Summary

Overview: If you already have your own Xendit account, you can connect it to your store with your Xendit secret API key. Customers then pay through Xendit's secure payment page, and the money goes straight into your own Xendit account. On the Payments page this option is called Xendit — Your Own Account. It is separate from Prosperna Payments (the Xendit account that Prosperna sets up for you).

Prerequisites:

  • A Philippine store on the Launch, Grow, Scale or Premium Trial plan.
  • Store owner access, or a team member with Billing access.
  • Your own Xendit account. Customers can only use the payment channels (for example GCash, Maya or cards) that are active on that Xendit account.
  • A Xendit secret API key with these permissions: Money-In: Write and Balance: Read.
    • A test key starts with xnd_development_. A live key starts with xnd_production_.
  • Check whether this Xendit account already sends invoice notifications to another system. Connecting replaces your Xendit account's invoice callback URL (see Step 3).

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open the Xendit (Your Own Account) page

  1. In the sidebar, click Settings, then Payments.
  2. Under Prosperna Payments, find the Xendit — Your Own Account card. Before you connect, it shows Not Connected.
  3. Click Manage.

The Xendit (Your Own Account) page opens.

Step 2: Create your secret API key in Xendit

  1. Sign in to your Xendit dashboard.
  2. Create a secret API key. When you create it, give it Money-In: Write and Balance: Read permissions.
  3. Copy the whole key. Use a test key (xnd_development_…) to try things out first, or a live key (xnd_production_…) to take real payments.

Step 3: Connect the key

  1. Read the Before you connect: note. Connecting sets Prosperna's webhook URL as your Xendit account's invoice callback. If another system uses the same Xendit account for invoice callbacks, that system stops receiving them.
  2. Paste your key into Secret API Key.
  3. Click Connect. Prosperna checks the key with Xendit before saving it, so this can take a few seconds.
  4. When it works, you see Xendit account connected.

To leave without connecting, click Back.

Step 4: Check your connection details

After you connect, the page shows:

  • a Connected badge and Your Xendit account is verified and connected.
  • Mode: Live or Test, depending on the key you used
  • API key ending with the last four characters of your key
  • Connected on with the date
  • Webhook URL: the address Prosperna set as your Xendit invoice callback. Click Copy to copy it. You can check it in your Xendit dashboard under Settings, then Webhooks.

Your full key is never shown again after you save it.

Step 5: See what your customers get at checkout

  1. On your store's checkout page, customers see a payment option called Xendit.
  2. When they choose it, they see You'll be redirected to a secure payment page to complete your order.
  3. After they place the order, they go to Xendit's payment page and pay with any channel that is active on your Xendit account.

Step 6: Follow your Xendit orders

You don't need to confirm Xendit payments yourself. Prosperna updates each order automatically:

  • When the order is placed: the payment status is Awaiting Payment.
  • When the customer pays: the payment status changes to Paid, stock is updated and the customer gets an order confirmation email.
    • Orders with physical products shipped by a courier (Standard Delivery, Same Day Delivery, Scheduled Delivery or USPS) move to Processing. For Store Pickup and Manual Shipping orders, update the order status yourself as usual.
    • Orders that contain only digital products move to Completed.
  • When the customer doesn't pay: Xendit's payment page expires after 24 hours, and the payment status changes to Declined Payment.

Payments go straight to your Xendit account. They are not added to your Prosperna balance. Manage payouts and refunds in your Xendit dashboard.

Step 7: Disconnect your Xendit account (optional)

  1. In the sidebar, click Settings, then Payments, then Manage on the Xendit — Your Own Account card.
  2. Click Disconnect.
  3. In the Disconnect Xendit account window, read the message: customers will no longer be able to pay through your Xendit account, and your API key will be removed.
  4. Click Disconnect. You see Xendit account disconnected.

The Xendit option disappears from checkout. You can connect again at any time by repeating Step 3.

Verify It Worked

Success criteria:

  • You saw Xendit account connected.
  • The Xendit (Your Own Account) page shows the Connected badge and the right Mode (Test or Live).
  • Back on Settings → Payments, the Xendit — Your Own Account card shows Connected.
  • On your store's checkout page, Xendit appears as a payment option.

Troubleshooting

Common errors

  • "Please enter your Xendit secret API key.": the Secret API Key box is empty. Paste your key and click Connect again.
  • "That does not look like a Xendit secret key.": the key doesn't start with xnd_development_ or xnd_production_. Make sure you copied the secret key, not the public key.
  • "Xendit rejected this API key. Double-check you copied the full secret key.": Xendit didn't accept the key. Copy the whole key again, or create a new one.
  • "Your Xendit API key is missing permissions — grant Money-In Write and Balance Read when creating the key.": create a new secret key in Xendit with those two permissions and connect it.
  • "We could not validate this key with Xendit right now. Please try again.": Prosperna couldn't reach Xendit. Wait a moment and try again.
  • "Your Xendit key works, but we could not register the payment webhook on your Xendit account. Please try again.": the key is fine, but setting the invoice callback failed. Try again.
  • "We could not load your Xendit connection. Please refresh and try again.": the page couldn't load your connection. Refresh the page.
  • "Could not copy. Please copy it manually.": your browser blocked copying. Select the Webhook URL and copy it yourself.
  • "Failed to disconnect.": the account was not disconnected. Try again.
  • A customer sees "We could not start the payment with this gateway. Please try another payment method.": Xendit couldn't create the payment page for that order, so the order was cancelled automatically. Check that your Xendit account is active and that your key hasn't been removed in Xendit. If needed, disconnect and connect again with a new key. This also happens when the order is in a currency other than Philippine pesos (PHP).
  • A customer paid after the order was cancelled: the order stays Cancelled. A note on the order asks you to refund the customer from your Xendit dashboard.

Limitations & considerations

  • Only Philippine stores can connect their own Xendit account, and it only accepts payments in Philippine pesos (PHP).
  • Which payment channels customers see on Xendit's page depends on your Xendit account, not on Prosperna.
  • Connecting replaces your Xendit account's invoice callback URL. Another system that uses the same Xendit account stops receiving invoice callbacks.
  • You can't change the payment status of these orders by hand. Prosperna updates it from Xendit.
  • Xendit isn't offered for QR menu (table) orders.
  • If you book a Prosperna courier for one of these orders, the delivery fee is paid from your Shipping Credits.
