Summary

Overview: Customers with an account on your store have a My Profile page. There they can update their name, email and mobile number, and save shipping addresses with a pinned map location. One address can be the default. This article explains what your customers see so you can help them.

Prerequisites:

  • Customer accounts switched on. See How to Set Up Customer Accounts and Guest Checkout.
  • The customer is logged in to their account on your store. See What Your Customers See When They Create an Account.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Your customer opens My Profile

  1. The customer logs in. They land on My Account.
  2. In the menu, they click My Profile (it opens first after login).

The page has two cards: Contact Details and Shipping Address.

Step 2: Your customer updates their contact details

Contact Details shows the customer's First Name, Last Name, Email and Mobile Number (read-only).

  1. The customer clicks Edit Contact Details.
  2. In the Contact Details window, they change:
    • First Name and Last Name (required; letters including Ñ, spaces, hyphens and commas only).
    • Mobile Number (required), with a country picker.
  3. They click Save.

Changing the email address

  1. In the same window, the customer types the new address in Email.
  2. They click Send Verification Code. The button only works once the email is different from the current one. They see Enter the verification code that we sent to your email.
  3. They type the code from their new inbox in Code and click Verify. They see Your verification code has been successfully verified.
  4. They click Save. Save is greyed out while a code is waiting to be verified.

Step 3: Your customer adds a shipping address

  1. On the Shipping Address card, the customer clicks Add Shipping Address.

  2. In My Shipping Address, they fill in:

  3. They click Save.

The address appears on the Shipping Address card, with Default next to the default address.

Step 4: Your customer edits, deletes or sets a default address

On an address, the customer clicks the three-dot icon, then:

  • Set Default to make it the default. They see Default shipping address updated successfully.
  • Edit to change it in My Shipping Address, then Save.
  • Delete to remove it. In Delete Address (Do you want to delete this address?), they confirm.

Verify It Worked

Success criteria:

  • After Save, the Contact Details card shows the new name, email or mobile number.
  • New addresses appear on the Shipping Address card, and the default one shows Default.

Troubleshooting

Common errors

  • "Invalid Name": the first or last name has numbers or symbols. Only letters (including Ñ), spaces, hyphens and commas are allowed.
  • "Invalid phone format for this country.": the mobile number doesn't match the selected country. Check the country and the number.
  • "Invalid code provided. Enter the verification code that we sent to your email.": the email code is wrong. Check the latest email and try again.
  • "Email is already used and registered.": another account on your store already uses that email.
  • "Please pin your location": the map pin wasn't set. Click or drag the pin on the map.
  • "Invalid Postal Code" (PH) or "Invalid ZIP Code" (US): Philippine postal codes have 4 digits; US ZIP codes have 5.
  • "ZIP Code does not match the selected state" (US): the ZIP code belongs to a different state. Check both.
  • "Address Line must be at most 35 characters", "Apartment, Suite, etc. must be at most 35 characters" or "City must be at most 35 characters" (US): shorten the entry.
  • "Required*": a required field is empty.

Limitations & considerations

  • Customers can't change their password from My Profile. They log out and use Forgot Password? on the Sign In page.
  • Customers can't delete their account themselves. They need to contact you.
  • Addresses can only be in your store's country: Philippine stores use Philippine addresses and US stores use US addresses.
